# Delegating Voting Power

#### What Delegation Means

* You keep your tokens locked in Network Participation — nothing leaves your wallet.
* Another wallet receives **your voting power** (not your tokens)
* You can update or remove delegation **at any time**, unless a vote has already begun and your voting power is locked for that proposal
* Delegation only affects governance — your funds remain fully secure and in your possession

#### Why Use Delegation

* Participate in governance even if you don’t vote manually
* Assign voting power to trusted community members or governance experts
* Useful for DAOs, institutions, and users managing multiple wallets
* Ensures your locked participation continues to contribute to governance, even when you're inactive.

#### How to Delegate

1. Open the **Governance Dashboard**
2. Select **Delegate Voting Power**
3. Enter the delegate’s wallet address
4. Review the selection and confirm
5. Sign the delegation transaction

Once confirmed, the delegate will vote on your behalf during active proposals.

### Notes

* Delegated voting power updates dynamically as your locked participation (TJR) changes.
* Delegates cannot withdraw your participation or move your tokens.
* Delegation **does not transfer ownership** or wallet access
* If your participation enters **unbonding**, you temporarily lose voting power until the process completes
* For each proposal, the system uses a **snapshot** — delegation changes after the snapshot do not affect that proposal
